Welcome to Pony Camp 2019. We hope you will have a wonderful week, develop your riding skills, learn more about caring for your horse/pony, make new friends and have lots of fun.
Venue Kilguilkey House, Ballyclough, Mallow
Dates Monday 1st July – Friday 5th July 2019 inclusive
Admission Ponies will be admitted to Kilguilkey strictly after 8.30am on Monday morning 1st July.
Passports must be presented for inspection by the Vet. Please ensure that all vaccinations are up to date and correct- refer to website.
What to Bring!
- Bedding will be provided for your stable
- Bridle and saddle
- Head collar/lead rope
- Pony brushes/hoof pick
- Tail bandage/rubber bands for plaiting mane
- Saddle soap and cloth/sponge
- Hay/haylage and hard feed
- Large Water bucket and feed bucket
- Yard brush and yard fork
- Wheelbarrow or skip bucket
- Packed lunch and drink
- Pony club sweatshirt to be worn every day
- Cream/ beige jodhpurs
- Riding boots
- Helmet and Body Protector
- Pony club tie
- Rain gear
- Biro and folder
Please ensure that all items you bring to camp are clearly labelled with your name.
Please be at camp at 8.30am every morning to feed pony and clean out your stable. You should be ready to be collected at 5pm every evening. All duties must be finished and yard cleared by 5pm every day.
To ensure the safe running of camp we need you to commit to help us on one day during the week PER CHILD ATTENDING. We will need plenty of help on Monday morning.
- Monitor Main Gates and ensure closed at all times.
- Help small children with water buckets and wheelbarrows.
- Bringing biscuits and drinks to rides.
- Generally being available to help for smooth running of camp.
Duty Times are 8.00am-2pm and 1pm-5.30pm.
Friday Morning July 5th2019
Stables and area outside stables may be cleaned out once your child has gone out with his/her ride. The pony cannot return to the stable once it is cleaned out. The pony can be loaded into horse box once morning ride is over. The horse box must be attached to a vehicle prior to loading for insurance purposes. All items must be removed from tack rooms and all stables used as tack rooms have to be cleaned out by 2pm. Prizegiving will be at 2pm
Medical Condition /Allergies
Please inform us on booking of any medical conditions that we or instructors need to be aware of. Please ensure your child has any medication /inhalers they require with them at camp.
Please give a mobile contact number for emergencies and your permission for children to receive medical treatment if required with one of the committee members.

|VACCINATIONS FOR CAMP/COMPETITIONS|
All ponies/horses must have Influenza Vaccination Certificates, which
undeniably relates to that pony/horse, completed, signed and stamped on each
line by a Veterinary Surgeon, who is not the owner of the animal. It must state that the pony/horse has
received 2 injections for Primary Vaccination against Equine Influenza given
not less than 21 days and not more than 92 days apart. In addition, a first
booster injection must be given no less than 150 days and no more than 215
days after the second injection of the Primary Vaccination. Subsequently,
booster injections must be given at intervals of not more than 1 year apart,
commencing after the first booster injection.|
2nd Vaccination 21days (3 Weeks) to 92 days (13 weeks) later.
3rd Vaccination 150 days (5 months) to 215 days (7 months) after 2nd Vaccination.
THEREAFTER, AN ANNUAL VACCINATION (WITHIN THE YEAR) IS REQUIRED.
Please remember that it is important to keep your pony/horse fully vaccinated (a) to stop the spread of Influenza among other ponies/horses (b) you will not be allowed to enter some camps, competitions (RDS) without them.
