Welcome to Pony Camp 2021.   We hope you will have a wonderful week, develop your riding skills, learn more about caring for your horse/pony, make new friends and have lots of fun.

Venue                          Kilguilkey House, Ballyclough, Mallow

Dates                           Monday 5thJuly – Friday 9th July 2021 inclusive

Admission                    Ponies will be admitted to Kilguilkey strictly after 8.00am on Monday morning 5th July.

Passports must be presented for inspection by the Vet. Please ensure that all vaccinations are up to date and correct- refer to website.

What to Bring!

Rider

  • Packed lunch and drink  
  • Pony club sweatshirt to be worn every day
  • Cream/ beige jodhpurs
  • Riding boots
  • Helmet (hats/skull caps to PAS015 with BSI Kitemark or ASTM F1163 (with SEI) or Snell E2001 with official Snell label or VG1 with BSI Kitemark or AS/NZ 3838 (1998), (2003) or (2006) are allowed. All hats must bear the CE Mark, and either BSI Kitemark or the SEI Global symbol)

Please ensure that all items you bring to camp are clearly labelled with your name.

Please be at camp at 8.30am every morning to feed pony and clean out your stable.  You should be ready to be collected at 5pm every evening. All duties must be finished and yard cleared by 5pm every day.

Medical Condition /Allergies

Please inform us on booking of any medical conditions that we or instructors need to be aware of. Please ensure your child has any medication /inhalers they require with them at camp.

Please give a mobile contact number for emergencies and your permission for children to receive medical treatment if required with one of the committee members.

VACCINATIONS FOR CAMP/COMPETITIONS
All ponies/horses must have Influenza Vaccination Certificates, which undeniably relates to that pony/horse, completed, signed and stamped on each line by a Veterinary Surgeon, who is not the owner of the animal.  It must state that the pony/horse has received 2 injections for Primary Vaccination against Equine Influenza given not less than 21 days and not more than 92 days apart. In addition, a first booster injection must be given no less than 150 days and no more than 215 days after the second injection of the Primary Vaccination. Subsequently, booster injections must be given at intervals of not more than 1 year apart, commencing after the first booster injection.

SUMMARY
1st Vaccination
2nd Vaccination 21days (3 Weeks) to 92 days (13 weeks) later.
3rd Vaccination 150 days (5 months) to 215 days (7 months) after 2nd Vaccination.
THEREAFTER, AN ANNUAL VACCINATION (WITHIN THE YEAR) IS REQUIRED.

IMPORTANT
Please remember that it is important to keep your pony/horse fully vaccinated (a) to stop the spread of Influenza among other ponies/horses (b) you will not be allowed to enter some camps, competitions (RDS) without them.
